Terms and Conditions:

Responsibilities of the driver trainer;

  • Agree to provide a vehicle that is registered, road worthy and has full comprehensive insurance.

  • Abide by the South Australian Driving Instructors Code of Conduct 

  • Agree to provide lessons at the booking time and date. If for any reason this is not possible, she agrees to notify the client ASAP and will either make up for lost time at the end of the lesson, (if convenient for both the client and the trainer) or to add time lost at the next appointment. If Instructor needs to cancel a lesson, she will endeavour to contact the client as soon as possible.

  • Provide a respectful, safe, relaxed, inclusive and supportive environment and treat all personal information and documents as private and confidential.

Responsibilities of the client;

  • Provide a current South Australian learners permit (class C) or equivalent overseas license and carry it with you at all times during a lesson and your Driving Companion book.

  • Be on time to commence lesson, determined at the time of booking at the agreed location. Lessons that do not commence on time will not have time extended at the end of the lesson. The client must contact the instructor ASAP if they are going to be late or need to cancel. The instructor will wait a total of 10 minutes for client and will terminate the lesson if client is a no show and has failed to contact instructor.

  • Not to be under the influence of drugs, alcohol or prescription medication that may affect their driving. If the trainer believes you are unfit to drive, they reserve the right to cancel or end the lesson and full payment for the lesson will apply. No refunds will be given.

  • Not act in an abusive or disrespectful manner towards the trainer or any other road users. Follow instructions given by the trainer and not drive in a dangerous or reckless manner. The trainer reserves the right to cancel or terminate the lesson should any of this occur or the trainer feels unsafe and full lesson fees will apply.

  • Must wear appropriate closed in shoes. No high heels, thongs or bare feet.

  • Mobile phones must be switched off prior to entering the training vehicle.

Vehicle Damage and Traffic Infringements;

  • The learner driver must operate the vehicle in a safe, careful, and responsible manner at all times during the driving lesson.

  • The learner driver must follow all reasonable and lawful instructions given by the driving instructor, including directions relating to speed, braking, steering, road positioning, traffic signs, parking, and general road safety.

  • If the learner driver causes damage to the instructor’s vehicle, another person’s vehicle, or any other property as a result of reckless driving, careless driving, unsafe behaviour, deliberate misuse of the vehicle, or failure to follow the driving instructor’s instructions, the learner driver may be responsible for paying the cost of repair, replacement, insurance excess, towing, cleaning, or any other reasonable costs arising from the damage.

  • Reckless or careless driving may include, but is not limited to, excessive speed, harsh or unnecessary braking, ignoring road signs or traffic signals, failing to observe hazards, steering dangerously, using the vehicle in a way that is inconsistent with the instructor’s directions, or continuing an unsafe action after being warned by the instructor.

  • Any claim for payment of damage costs will be assessed based on the circumstances of the incident, including whether the learner driver acted unreasonably, ignored clear instructions, or failed to exercise proper care and attention while driving.

  • The learner driver is responsible for paying any traffic infringements, fines, penalties, or associated costs incurred during a driving lesson where the infringement arises from the learner driver’s actions, decisions, reckless or careless driving, or failure to follow the driving instructor’s reasonable and lawful instructions.

Cancellation Fees;

  • All fees must be paid prior to the commencement of the lesson.

  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice or a no show at the start time of a booking, will be charged full price of the lesson fee.
